The Michigan Fireworks Safety Act provides that local municipalities must allow fireworks to be lit the day before, the day of, and the day after a national holiday.
Firework Safety
Always use fireworks outdoors and keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby in case of accidents. Never place a part of your body directly over a firework or hold a firework in your hand when lighting. Light only one firework at a time. Designate a safe perimeter to keep people safely away from fireworks.
Where Can I Use Fireworks?
Use only on private property with the owner's permission. Fireworks are not allowed in public parks, retention basins or other public facilities. Light fireworks away from brush, leaves and combustible materials. Always have a bucket of water and or a fire extinguisher nearby.
